Chelsea Texter, NP-C

Chelsea Texter, NP-C, is the nurse practitioner of Access Family Medicine and its resident salad expert. A Negaunee native, Texter graduated from Northern Michigan University with both her bachelor's and master’s degrees. She has been practicing medicine for 22 years and started in-home care as a teenager.

Texter was asked why she chose to practice medicine, and she replied with a debonair tone, “I truly love making people feel better and empowering them to take control of their health and happiness.” Patients can hear Texter’s laugh ring through the halls, demonstrating she practices what she preaches. “To live a healthy life, one must eat whole foods, walk daily, and laugh often.”

When not at the office, Texter has her nose in a book and her feet in the sand somewhere on a beach admiring Lake Superior. Texter also loves cooking wholesome meals for the ones she loves and going on long hikes.

In her free time, Ackerman enjoys pickleball, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
